About Us

Driven by DNS Africa Academy & Partners.

The DNS Africa Academy provides the institutional foundation, domain expertise, and operational framework for this initiative. Through the Digital Space for Digital Governance, we deploy targeted capacity-building programs, research fellowships, and community outreach campaigns designed to build a secure, resilient, and language-inclusive digital environment for all.

"Effective digital governance begins with informed, empowered leaders collaborating across borders."

Building Leaders for Africa's Digital Future

Building Leaders for Africa's Digital Future.

The Digital Governance Fellows Initiative Portal is the dedicated workspace and collaborative platform for fellows, alumni, mentors, and experts participating in the Digital Governance Fellows Program.

Driven by Digital Space for Digital Governance—a multipurpose vehicle established by the DNS Africa Academy—the platform bridges technical domain knowledge with strategic policy insight. It empowers emerging and established leaders to actively shape internet governance, digital sovereignty, and cyber-policy frameworks across Africa and beyond.

Our Purpose.

As Africa’s digital economy rapidly unfolds, the policy decisions made today will define the security, accessibility, and inclusivity of tomorrow's internet infrastructure. The Digital Governance Fellows Initiative was established to:

  • Foster Local & Regional Expertise: Equip African professionals with deep domain knowledge in DNS infrastructure, universal acceptance, data governance, and internet policy.

  • Bridge Policy & Practice: Connect high-level digital rights frameworks with practical, on-the-ground technical implementation.

  • Strengthen Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration: Build active synergies between government, civil society, academic institutions, technical communities, Internet Society chapters, and regulatory bodies.
