Code of Conduct

Empowering Respectful & Inclusive Digital Governance

The Digital Governance Fellows Initiative thrives on open dialogue, diversity of thought, and constructive multi-stakeholder collaboration. To maintain a safe, welcoming, and productive environment across all portal spaces, forums, and live sessions, all fellows, mentors, alumni, and participants are expected to adhere to the following principles:

Core Expectations.

  • Professional Integrity & Respect: Treat all community members with courtesy and consideration. Debate ideas vigorously, but always maintain respect for the individual regardless of background, experience level, nationality, or perspective.

  • Constructive Engagement: Share insights, offer feedback, and participate in discussions with the goal of advancing shared knowledge, digital rights, and sound policy.

  • Inclusivity & Accessibility: Value diverse cultural contexts and regional experiences. Respect linguistic diversity and support efforts to make discussions accessible to all peers across the continent.

  • Privacy & Confidentiality: Respect the privacy of fellow participants. Do not share personal data, confidential working documents, or private forum discussions outside the portal without explicit consent.

  • Academic & Professional Honesty: Ensure all research, policy papers, and contributions submitted through the portal represent original work or properly cite sources.

Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment, hate speech, personal attacks, trolling, unauthorized commercial promotion, or disruptive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated within the portal or associated initiative channels.

Reporting & Governance

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it directly to the platform administrative team via conduct@dnsafrica.org. All reports will be reviewed promptly and handled with strict confidentiality.

Enforcement: Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in a formal warning, temporary suspension, or removal from the Fellowship Program and portal access at the discretion of the management team.
